In the dining room at Hearts Together is this delightful piece made by a local Scout group.
The place names on our ride home always amuse me. Forgive the quality of the shots, all taken from a moving car!

I saw a recipe last week that looked and sounded delicious – Juicy Peach Raspberry Cake – and I made it today. It did taste good but didn’t look as good as the original. My peaches were white not orange which made a difference but I was able to use some of our own raspberry crop which is excellent this year.
Our Lily buds have opened at last. Their scent is filling the garden.
We went by Truro today and the flower display along the dual carriageway is wonderful. I took this photo from a moving car and although out of focus I love the serendipity of it looking as if the car has a roof full of flowers!
It’s been a day of kindnesses and all have been greatly appreciated.
In the post today came a couple of cards full of love and one containing more sea glass from my blogging friend Judith as well as a beautiful butterfly that she has made for me. Thank you, J.
Then from my blogging friend, Nancy, the following which I love.
And, just now, by email, a song, “This Love Will Carry.” I was unable to go to choir today as I was to have my stitches out. As it turned out, the wound was not quite ready so I have to return on Wednesday. This song was recorded for me and the others who were unable to be there and who were missed. Do click on the link and listen to my beautiful choir.
Another friend brought us the eggs that I normally collect from other friends at rehearsal.
I am quite overwhelmed with the love and kindnesses washing around me.
P.S. Thank you for all the comments too. I’ll get to them tomorrow xx
Driving to and from Community Roots today was a joy as the lanes are lined with golden daffodils. The photo was taken from a moving car hence the smudge. I wasn’t driving 🙂 .
We went to get bread from our favourite bread shop today and this delightful work by Cosmic was on the shop window replacing the Father Christmas who was represented a couple of months ago.
I was asked today if I had ever climbed out of a window to do something illicit. That question prompted a lovely memory.
Late one summer term, I had a pupil climb IN through the window as he had been told he would be in my English class the next year and he wanted to see what he was in for!
I loved this washing line outside the nursery that we passed on Thursday, Santa costumes and fairy outfits – just delightful.
We were in Falmouth last night for the funniest show of Christmas, Christmas. Time. by Near-Ta Theatre and the street lights were lovely.
We love our visits to our Dear friend Ti and sharing poems with her. This was one of the ones we all enjoyed today, by Mary Oliver.
So sad to hear that Benjamin Zephaniah has died and at such a young age. We have loved his work for many years, even had Breakfast with him once at an event at a Sheffield pub many, many years ago.
Here is a poem so apt for our times called The British…….
and a wonderful recording from YouTube.
Our very old laptop is poorly and we have bought a new one. Sadly, there is no slot for my camera’s memory card so right now, I can’t add my photos. I will hope to learn how to put my photos here by another method. Any advice very gladly received.
When I was cutting an angel wing this morning, the wing dropped from the larger glass I was cutting from and landed on its edge! Amazing! I loved it and its reflection.
The lovely Mr S had fun putting the eggs on the rack today.
I remembered the Advent candle this evening. It has a bit of burning down to do to catch up.
