Six on Saturday – White – and A Poem

01 Aug

I love white flowers in the garden. They lift dark corners and sometimes even catch the light of the moon.

Daisies

And a poem for you, White Flowers by Mary Oliver whose work I always find interesting.

Such a lovely themed six! I had to stop and count on my fingers how many whites I have tucked in all the random corners of the garden, which probably means I don’t have nearly enough! Only a couple I chose to plant, anyway. Given, we don’t have much of a moon to reflect during the season when everything is blooming, but they are still very pretty and worth putting more thought into, thanks!

Thank you for your lovely comment. I do love my white flowers as you probably realise. We have white flowers in most seasons starting with Snowdrops and Narcissi. 🙂

Thank you, white flowers really lift the garden.
I’ve posted several Mary Oliver poems as I really like her work. If you put her name in the search on my blog you’ll find them.
Thank you for calling in and taking the time to comment. 😊

That’s lovely to hear. I’ve posted lots of her poems over the years, so full of life and nature and empathy.
I’m with you on the frazzled feeling, both for me and the garden. A photo of the whole of our garden would show lots of brown, crispy frazzle and blooms going over much too quickly.
I love your Peace rose and am inspired to get one, both for its flowers and its name and because it was one of my Mum’s favourites too. 🙂

You have lots of white flowers. Do you know what the clematis is?

Sadly not – but thanks for the heads up that I had mislabeled the photo. 🙂
