Sea, Sky and A Mosaic

We had a delicious lunch at The Blue Bar in Porthtowan today with our eldest daughter who visited for the day.  In between heavy showers, the sky was the loveliest blue and the shades of colour in the sea were gorgeous.

I love the new mosaic welcoming people to Porthtowan.

If you can, click on the photo and enlarge it to see the lovely bright detail and read all the words in the darker lines.

Celebration, Sea and Stones

We have been back in Cornwall for 17 years and today celebrated a few days late by having lunch at The Blue Bar in Porthtowan, just about our favourite place!

I love watching the waves and listening to them crashing onto the beach.

There were some beautiful stones as we walked down to the edge of the water.

Humanism, Breakfast and Double Daisy

It is World Humanism Day today.

We met friends at The Blue Bar in Porthtowan for breakfast again this morning and had a super indulgent and very tasty meal.  The wind was too cold and rough for our intended walk on the beach afterwards.

Waffle with berries, mascarpone and honey with a side of crispy bacon

One of our daisies was broken off in the wind so I brought it in and then realised that it is a double! I’ve never seen one like it before.

I hope you can see the magical doubleness

A Beautiful Sunny Day

We took our friends out for Brunch at The Blue Bar, a treat where we take all our visitors. The sun was shining and has done all day. The beach filled up with families and was a joy to see.

The best windbreak

Beach, Boots and Frank the Cat

After being treated to a delicious brunch at The Blue Bar in Porthtowan we had a very windy walk on the beach. A couple of the gusts nearly had me blown over but LiveWire 4 marched all over the beach, collecting stones and having fun.

One of the family decided to go for a paddle!

Later, we visited our lovely friends and spent some time admiring their very beautiful young cat, Frank.

Beach, Buds and A Rose

Brunch at The Blue Bar is a tradition whenever the family are here – delicious food followed by fun on the beach, body boarding and messing about in the water – for the family, not us!

We have lovely pinkish rose buds.

And a gorgeous rose.

Bouquet and Another Family Day

faceb

This morning on our way to the Blue Bar for lunch with all the family, our newly met little niece, presented me with a little bouquet.

Little bouquet

Great fun was had by all the little cousins.

Getting water for the moat

The London branch of the family were due to leave by train this afternoon but in getting to the station we discovered that the train had been cancelled and the next one not for two hours which meant arriving in London well after 11pm. Home we went again to return for the 6.03pm.  When we arrived at the station the lovely lady behind the counter called us over and told K that she was doing her an up-grade to First Class because of the inconvenience! The children were over the moon and so was K! What a lovely kind and considerate thing for her to do.

A Day’s Work, Handprint and Rowers

The Perthi Kov team have all been hard at it today, costume schedules, character discussions, poster making and programme designing – just brilliant and I want to record my thanks to the team making this happen. They know who they are.  The flyers are ready for printing too.

We had supper at The Blue Bar this evening and then had a walk on the beach at Porthtowan. We spotted a handprint that suggested someone was doing cartwheels earlier in the evening. I used to love cartwheeling across the beach!

We watched the rowers practising.

Dandelions, Porthtowan and Hot Chocolate with Ammar

1  I love the vibrant beauty of dandelions!

These were growing at the side of the beach in Porthtowan.

2   We determined to go to the beach at Porthtowan whatever the weather today and, although a bit chilly, we had lots of fun. Jake in his little wet-suit, played in the very cold water!

3   We followed these adventures with beautiful hot chocolates at The Blue Bar Porthtowan where we met Claire and Ammar which was rather special.

PS The lovely Anni of  http://globalanni.wordpress.com/ has very kindly nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger award about which I am delighted and which I will sort out when the family have gone home. Thank you very much, Anni!
