Choir-Babies, Baby Brother and Evening Sky

1 Singing this morning with The Suitcase Singers was a wonderful endorphin inducing and spirit lifting event! Not only did we have our resident Choir-baby E but Choir-baby T, his Mum and his baby brother came to visit from Glasgow! Singing was lovely and watching the children interact, a joy.

Christmas Tree, Egg Yolk and Mincemeat Cookies

1 Penryn is full of Christmas trees and it is delightful.

2 Sometime ago I bought a little rubber contraption to separate egg yolk from the white and today I used this brilliant little thing with great success!

3 The mixture above was for a new recipe for Mincemeat biscuits which turned out very well indeed. They are very moreish! I have re-named them Munchy Mincemeat Morsels!

Gingerbread Houses, Yarn and Bark

1 The theme for our shop windows in Redruth this winter is Gingerbread houses and there is a lovely display made by Redruth School in the window of my opticians in Fore Street. I love the partly eaten gingerbread people!

2 I discovered a shop in the market place today that sells beautiful natural yarn for spinning or felting.

3 On the way up the hill the sun caught the patterns of the bark on a tree trunk.

Birthday Lunch, Pendennis Castle and Skyline

1 We had a lovely lunch at The Cove in Maenporth to celebrate the birthday of a good friend. Our dessert was truly scrumptious!

2 Across from Maenporth, the setting sun (it was a long lunch!) lit up the cliffs and the castle with a glorious golden glow.

Mayor, Owl Hat and Full Moon Rising

1 In Redruth today there were mince-pies and tangerines, biscuits and hot chocolate all free from the town council and our Mayor was there along with others handing them out to all the shoppers. It was delightful!

2 Today I had the loveliest thank you note from Kari and Lael and photos of their beautiful baby wearing the owl hat I made for him.

Heart Glow, Happiness and I Love Libraries

1 Some days you just need a boost and today that came from phone calls from two of our daughters, one to tell me that as Grand-baby B grows she looks more and more like me. That made my heart glow! The other was to ask if they can come for New Year (of course!)

2 Happiness is phone calls from those who love you and ginger ice-cream by the sea.

3 Do watch Scroobius Pip’s animated poem ‘Library’ – commissioned by Chris Hawkins for BBC 6 Music’s celebration of libraries and performed live on his show in November 2014. It is brilliant! Please feel free to share it as far and wide as possible.

1 We had three Choir-babies with us today though W is far from being a baby! It is such a delight to have youngsters growing up with singing and then singing with us.

2 Tonight we sang carols in Falmouth finishing at The Poly where there was a craft fair. Just look at this beautiful felted work and pottery done by my lovely friend, N. It was a delightful evening.

Dawn Colours, Swanpool Walk and Slow Cooker

1 I like it when dawn is so late that it coincides with our getting up! The colours this morning from our front window were delicately beautiful.

2 We are taking advantage of these beautiful winter days to walk in some of our favourite places before I have my hip operation (I still don’t have a date – just probably December or January and certainly no later than March12th!) and am then confined to walking along our road for a few weeks. Today we went to Swanpool and walked towards Gylly Beach. I have had a number of pain free days and feel brilliant! It makes me wonder why I am having the operation but then someone reminds me of how I have been feeling……… Join us as we move from the pool to the beach and then walk along the coastal path and back to the cafe for hot chocolate and cake! Pony and Trap, Cupcakes and Knitivity

1 Coming home from Truro this afternoon, we followed a pony and trap up the hill. I love how his hooves flash by.

2 I just love shopping for baking! I really don’t need any more cup-cake cases but these were too lovely to leave in the shop. Now I shall have to find someone for whom to bake cup-cakes!
