Weather, Engine House and Skeleton Trees

We had to go to Truro quite early this morning and the skies were both black and blue prescient of the sunny day with heavy hail showers that was to come.

Black and blue sky

The road from Chacewater home takes us between the Wheal Busy site and the Killifreth site and this chimney which I can’t identify was on the left.  I’m hoping that someone local who reads this will be able to tell me.

Wheal ?

It was lovely how the sun caught the tops of the skeleton trees.

Pansy, Narcissi and Winter Clouds

Walking around the garden this afternoon, I was delighted to see so many flowers ready to open – Crocuses, little Daffodils, Grape Hyacinths. There are Pansies and a few Narcissi blooming already but just the odd one here and there, no swathes! Sadly the Snowdrops mostly came and went while we were away.  The evening clouds were delicate and peachy despite moving through the sky at an alarming rate as the strong winds continue.

Peace, Moon and Evening Clouds

A lovely peaceful scene outside the Zed Shed made the singing even more lovely.

The nearly moon here shone out in contrast with the evergreen and the winter branches.

There were more pretty clouds on the horizon this evening.I always wonder where a plane is going when I see a vapour trail.

Collared Dove, Clouds and A Pair of Pheasants

1   This Collared Dove was not phased by my turning up with the camera. In fact, it seemed to be curious!

2     There were some pretty cloud patterns as we drove to yet another garden centre on my hunt for Heliotrope

3   No-one seems to be growing Heliotrope this year (If any of my local friends know where I can find some plants, please let me know!). However, I did fall for another garden sculpture – but didn’t buy this delightful pair……..

Knitting, Blue Sky and Tibuchina Urvilleana

1   Last night I finished off two  head-dresses for Kings to go along with the three beards I have knitted – all for the Wildworks event at Eden  – The Yule-tide Ark-ive

3   The delightful Tibuchina Urvilleana is in flower again and it will continue all winter in my Suffragette garden. No white to go along with it just now except for the touch on the stamens. Where are my white winter Cyclamen?

Clover, Colour and Clouds

1   Walking through the park into town this morning, the honey scent of the clover was quite heady.

3   It’s been so warm today we were able to have our evening meal outside and to appreciate the beautiful evening clouds together.

As I’m writing this I’m looking out of the window into the field at the back and there’s a young fox chasing magpies, rabbits and his own tail!

First Frost, Clouds and A Baby Hoodie

3   I’ve finished the baby hoodie for next April’s arrival. This one should fit just as the Autumn comes in about September time. I’m stocking up on various sizes!  These colourful buttons used to be on cardigans worn by the expectant Mum and her twin brother when they were very little. The elephants were his and the ladybirds, hers.
