Choir-Baby Walking, Pumpkins and Recipe Links

1      Imagine our delight when 11 month old Choir-baby T, set off to walk across the room this morning! Last week he could wall-walk; this week he can walk confidently and turn around without falling!

Choir-baby T walking

I’ve had enough of this grown-up talk! I’m off to explore!

2   Only the other day, I was admiring a photo of pumpkins from America and then today when I went shopping, I saw all these. Wish they were as beautifully displayed as the ones mentioned.

Glorious pumpkins

3   I’ve frozen the Curried Cauliflower Soup today and have put the recipe on my Recipe Page. You can find it here. You can also find the Happy Cake recipe here .

P.S. A warning about the Happy Cake! The tryptophan might make you sleepy!

Some lovely Fellow Bloggers have given me some delightful Awards – thank you all so much, very much appreciated!   I’ll sort them out asap!

Sister Day, I BeLOnG and Chocolate Cracklets

1   I have learned this morning from Cathy that today, the first Sunday in August, is Sister Day, a day for celebrating Sisterhood. This post therefore is for my Sisters

  • Daisy, my kid sister who lives in Hawaii whom I love so much but can’t see very often
  • My lovely sisters-in-law both of whom I saw only last week at the reunion but they live far away too, in Atlanta and Munich
  • My ‘Dearest Sister’, Kath, my friend of 30 years whom I lost last year to brain cancer and who is the inspiration for this blog
  • Sibongile and Grace, sisters-under-the-skin in Mapoch, South Africa
  • All my Sisters in the Suitcases
  • All my virtual sisters in the blog world

Happy Sister Day to you all!

Painting by Daisy – a present for you all

2   From pennycoho I have collected this beautiful Award which she has invented and for which there are no rules! She only asks that we please share it with all our fellow Bloggers! Have a look at her blog for her full explanation.

I BeLOnG

3  Mr S and I had an attack of the sweet tooths (sweet teeth?) this afternoon so I made some delicious Chocolate Cracklets using my Mum’s recipe. They are just the best – chocolatey, gooey, full of raisins and crunchy! What more could a sweet tooth want?!  🙂

Dandelions, Porthtowan and Hot Chocolate with Ammar

1  I love the vibrant beauty of dandelions!

These were growing at the side of the beach in Porthtowan.

2   We determined to go to the beach at Porthtowan whatever the weather today and, although a bit chilly, we had lots of fun. Jake in his little wet-suit, played in the very cold water!

3   We followed these adventures with beautiful hot chocolates at The Blue Bar Porthtowan where we met Claire and Ammar which was rather special.

PS The lovely Anni of  http://globalanni.wordpress.com/ has very kindly nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger award about which I am delighted and which I will sort out when the family have gone home. Thank you very much, Anni!

An Award, The Glasgow School of Art and Three Horses

1   I’m really delighted to have been nominated for the Leibster Award by PositiveBoomer, particularly as I love her blog, so full of positivity!  Thank you very much indeed, Renee.

Have a look at the Awards page for more info. http://mybeautfulthings.com/awards/liebster-blog-award/

2   This picture hangs on the wall near the computer and reminds us of our visits to Glasgow to see the wonderful works of Charles Rennie Macintosh and of his wife, Margaret.  The Art School is such a beautiful building as are all his designs.

3   There are three horses in the field behind our garden today and I caught them through a rain drenched window!
