The following is from today’s Guardian newspaper – the ten best theatre shows to see this summer.

2 Wolf’s Child
Bill Mitchell, the founder of Wildworks, a company specialising in creating theatre in which the natural landscape is an integral part of the experience, died earlier this year. He was a theatre visionary and his legacy lives on in this reworked version of a show first seen at the Norfolk & Norwich festival in 2015. This is theatre that encourages you to stray from the path, even when wolves lurk in the wilderness. Their howls hang in the air in this story that follows a wolf mother and her wards.

Swans, Ukelele and Flowers with Sand

The Swan family on The Penryn River are growing up.

One of our friends has made this little ukelele for his four year old Grandson who added the paintwork.

LiveWire 4 wanted to take home the wedding flowers she had collected from the beach so I tied them up ready to be taken after Marmite on toast for breakfast!

First Dance? First Swim!

It’s been a very busy day today so here is another photo from Monday’s very special wedding. Instead of a first dance, our beautiful couple had a first swim and were joined by many of their guests. I stayed on-shore with LiveWire 4 who held the flowers.

Playing, Present and Garden Treasures

The bouncy ball in our garden is much appreciated by the LiveWires and is anticipated for much of the journey here. I love how her curls look like a lion’s mane as she bounces!

LiveWire no 4 presented me with a bunch of daisies, collected en route, which revived by tea time, given a good long drink.

B brought her garden trophies in to show us – a spiky poppy and a yellow flower which she was pleased to hear was a Begonia called Million Kisses! We have lots of them in the garden this year to make golden splashes all over the place to mark our Golden Wedding later this Summer.

Frida Kahlo, Earrings and First Words

I’ve been trying to find time to get to Studio 10 in Redruth to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition since last Sunday. I made it at last, met some lovely people, saw some amazing art and bought some earrings! I just loved the humour in these mosaic characters by Susie Chaikin, an artist I am delighted to have discovered today. Do have a look at her website by clicking on the red link. I featured some of her husband, Mike Chaikin’s, kinetic sculptures in April without knowing they were his – sorry! You can see them here.

Here are the earrings I bought today. I need to find out the name of the artist maker. (I have now been told they have been made by Anne Boo Whetter.

Curly Hair, 67 and Local Lifeguards

What a delightful time we have had in The Blue bar tonight having supper in our favourite place overlooking the beach at Porthtowan. There was a lovely family whom I fell into conversation with as their three year old looked so much like me in early photos. They were very happy for me to take a photo for my blog, back view as always of children, though she did move a bit!

Our table number was 67 which pleased me as that is the year we married!

50 years ago

As we were finishing our meal, dozens of young people arrived in fancy dress and on bicycles. They were in the bar for a short time and then went out to start what looked like a race and I managed a couple of photos. When I went back in I asked at the bar what was going on as all I had heard was, “Welcome to the 2017 ….” and the rest was drowned in cheers. It turns out, all these young people were Life Guards from local beaches and they have an annual cycle ride from pub to pub called The Tour de P*ss. They were certainly having a good time and this was just the start!
