Our walk today was highlighted by yellows, started after I spotted the yellow Holly leaf. After that, the yellows just shone out at us.

6th June I baked a cake to sell at a Ceilidh that was held last night to raise funds for a volunteering trip to Uganda.
Today – the sun is shining and this Iris has bloomed.
1 Walking in Truro today, I first was struck by the overwhelming and sweet smell of honeysuckle and then saw this cheeky squirrel feeding from food left out for him or for birds – I wasn’t sure.
2 This week’s free range eggs, bought yesterday from friends at choir, are very beautiful.
3 Tonight we have been to the Melting Pot to see a fabulous group – Rob Heron and the Teapad Orchestra – lively and very skilled musicians from Newcastle.
1 The honeysuckle is beginning to bud already. I hope the promised freezing weather doesn’t do too much harm.
2 I love the iridescent colours on the body of this fly which has landed on the Cistus.
3 Today I have discovered a new cooking blog and a beautiful sounding cake, Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Cake, which I have made this afternoon.
1 The honeysuckle is looking beautiful and the bees are appreciating the blooms too.
2 There was a Bumble bee on the honeysuckle but my biologist daughter tells me that this bee on the broad beans is a Honey bee. I’m not sure why, but that pleases me!
3 The children came home and Tabitha raided the cupboard for the beautiful colourful cup-cake cups and Jake had fun with Lucy.
and a question for my fellow bloggers who are gardeners – My Sprouting Broccoli is sprouting! I thought it was supposed to do this in the Winter and the Spring. Should I pinch out the tops or what? Please advise!
