At The Royal Academy

Yesterday we went to the Antony Gormley Exhibition at the Royal Academy and I wrote about the very moving piece, Iron Baby, last night.
Today, I want to show you Host, a remarkable, breathtaking use of exhibition space, simply filled with sea water and clay! There are concrete barriers at the doorway so that the water can’t escape.

Rebellion, Protest and The Royal Academy

That was quite a weekend! Up to London by train on Friday to be just in time to meet courageous friends who have been with Extinction Rebellion for the last 12 days, on then to join one million others to demand a People’s Vote over the Brexit debacle, and today to the Royal Academy to see the Antony Gormley exhibition – and then the 5 hour journey home!

Rainbow, Reflection and Cookies

Drawing the curtains back this morning I was greeted by a beautiful bright rainbow.

The reflections on the Penryn River as we sang this morning were very lovely.

Last time we went on The People’s Vote March, I was touched by a young woman’s generosity when she passed out home-made Brownies to the crowd around her. Today I have baked 50 Oat and Cherry Cookies to hand out to fellow protesters. I packed them up before taking a photo so here are the three saved for us!

Birthday Bouquet and Two Views

It’s still possible to pick enough flowers for a friend’s birthday.

The view as we walked through the gardens of the Meudon hotel is fabulous.

At the bottom of the gardens is Bream Cove with a view across to Falmouth.

Basket, Pancakes and Clematis

There are still lots of lovely colourful baskets of flowers in Truro.

I made Lemon and Raisin Pancakes for a treat this afternoon.

We brought in a couple of Clematis flowers today.

Bag, Stickers and Angels

My bag for the People’s Vote March next Saturday arrived today along with a couple of stickers, in Cornish.

I have now completed eight stained glass angels for the Christmas market. Here are a couple, all reclaimed glass, some. of. it. Victorian, and re-cycled bits of jewellery.

Blues, Lilac and Skeletons

A glorious afternoon so off we went to walk by the sea. Join us – it was bracing!

Blues

I spotted something purple on the very edge of the cliff so zoomed in (the cliffs are unstable here so I didn’t get close) and found a flower which looks like Sea Thrift but is the wrong colour and the wrong season. I’m hoping someone can help me identify them – HeyJude maybe?

The seed heads were delicately beautiful skeletons.
