Market, Parade and Happiness

The Christmas Market went well despite the appalling weather.

Part of my stall

It was the Lights Switch-on Parade tonight and my choirs were singing in the pouring rain but with smiles on our faces! The Parade went by in a misty blur.

It will be December tomorrow. Here is Action for Happiness’s advice for the month.

For my cat-loving friends…..  enjoy this.

Choirs of Angels

Glass all day ready for the market tomorrow – I now have a beautiful choir of angels – and then, this evening, I went singing with my beautiful choirs at Krowji for the start of the Christmas season. We can only sing in groups of ten so that we don’t block the corridors for all the people who have come to visit the artists’ studios. It’s quite a challenge with only two or three in each part.

Thanksgiving, Robin and Beech Tree

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends, family and readers across the pond.

After singing this morning, I was delighted to see a Robin on the decking just outside the door of the cafe,  Muddy Beach, where we all go for coffee and a catch-up.

After coffee time, I walked up through Penryn to call in at the gallery, Fannie&Fox,  with my new work as there is a re-hanging today.  Outside there is an enormous beech tree with some masts still hanging on. There are Christmas trees along the streets (but too soon to show such things!) and it seemed as if Nature had left her baubles hanging on the tree.

Red Leaves, Primroses and Jeremy Corbyn

The Cotoneaster Horizontalis in the front garden is gloriously red.

There are Primroses trying really hard to flower in our appalling weather, still gales and gales and…..

We have been at  a packed and exhilarating rally this evening. Hundreds queued in the downpour to get into the hall to listen to Jeremy Corbyn. We were then all treated to  a brilliant series of speeches.

Perthi Kov and Habits

Sue, my lovely neighbour, and I have been to a local history society this evening to talk about our project, Until the Day Break, which was performed in St Euny Churchyard in 2017. You can check out the project and the stories on our website. This advice came my way today. Sounds good if I can stick to it.

Christmas Boxes

A few years ago, a young man in Cornwall started the Cornwall Christmas Box scheme. He had the idea to collect together in a box, all the things needed for a Christmas dinner for a family.Today we dropped off two boxes of Christmas dinners. They joined another 8 which others had delivered and that’s just one drop-off place and a week early so I’m hoping there will be loads to be distributed all over Cornwall.

Last year almost 100 were donated. Maybe this year there will be even more. Sadly, the need is greater than ever. Almost unbelievable, about a third of children in Cornwall are living in poverty

Creativity, Mess and Ideas

Our dining room has become my glass workroom and I’ve made another pair of curtains for L today on the kitchen table. Tomorrow I can post them to the cottage.
