Weekly Photo Challenge – Alphabet

This was a tricky Challenge – of course, that’s what a Challenge is all about!  I was going to post hieroglyphs, an alphabet I cannot read and then decided on a different approach – things I love that spell it out – growing and baking!

Weekly Photo Challenge – A Knitted Gathering

When I saw this delightful nativity scene this afternoon when my choir were singing at a wedding, it seemed to be to be an appropriate seasonal gathering.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Oops!

I rather think I added too much brandy to the mincemeat mixture and, oops! It has boiled over! They are very sticky and they are delicious. I have only had one of the mini ones, honestly, just to make sure they are okay. One poor angel has lost her head and looks more like a ghost!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Transition

Anyone who lives in Cornwall will recognise this copse which signals the transition from England to Cornwall and home. It is actually in Devon but shows us that we are nearly there. Both photos were taken today from the moving car as we returned from Bristol. It is always good to come home!

Another Trio

Ever since I was about 11,  when my Mum bought me a beautiful box from an auction, I have collected other pretty boxes and although I have never been a smoker, I was fascinated when I first found these, one in a junk shop and the others at an Antiques fair. I love the mechanism and the way they deliver a cigarette to you. I just wish I could show you the levers and the craft work inside that makes them work.

The public buses and trucks in Dakar, where we went for our son’s wedding in 2012, are ornately decorated, every one special and different.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Treat

It is always a treat when our Grandchildren come to stay. They love bouncing on the air bed in the morning, especially as it goes down and their Aunt makes them fly! To see what others consider a treat, click here.

The girls dancing here had to be very careful indeed! The ledge is less than 3″ wide.
