Satisfaction, Box and Concert

02 Dec

1   The decorating is almost finished! We just have to put the paintings back and all will soon be well. That’s a job well done!

2   Today,  I polished up my box where  I keep special things like first haircuts. wedding and birth announcements and noticed again the bee with the flowers. This box was given to me when I was about 11 years old; my Mum bought it at an auction in Truro.  Another time, I will show you some of my treasures.

3   Our choir, The Inglehearts, sang with the children from the village school in whose hall we  practise each week. It was so lovely to sing with the little ones from 4 – 10 years old who did beautifully in their Christmas Concert. I learned a delightful action song about penguins which I will do with our Grandchildren when they are with us at Christmas.

beautiful memory box…what a special gift from your Mother…I have little momentos I’ve saved…but, wonder if they will mean as much to them as they have to me…

Have you/your choir ever had anything to do with the twinning with Morlaix?

      No – and that’s a shame.

Hmmm. I sing in a choir in Morlaix. We went to Germany with the twinning committee for Wurselen. If was fun.

Your box is beautiful and surely holds many memories.
Every child and adult should have a little box of some sort to keep those special things. It doesn’t have to be beautiful or expensive or fancy. Just a place to store items that probably mean nothing to anyone else.
I remember leaving home for university and then job. Of course I left all my things at my parents home. When I married I returned to gather up my junk. Some of it had been thrown out (and rightly so). But I missed some of my childhood keepsakes. 🙁

I boxed my own children’s junk and when they were finally established, I said, “Come get your stuff!”

Children sing with such joy and energy don’t they? The penguin song sounds intriguing.
