1 I saw these when I went for my (very successful!) piano lesson. Aren’t they beautiful? I must grow some.

Californian Poppies
2 We met this happy trio when we went to a garden centre in Wadebridge to buy some trellis panels. They were very happy for me to take their photo. The women said that Charlie wasn’t very talkative but would be happy enough to be in the photo.

3 A beautiful almost Rainbow supper tonight, Red peppers, Orange carrots, (no Yellow but we had bananas in our breakfast pancakes) Green broccoli and Green beans, no Blue (but there were blueberries in the pancakes too), Indigo in the aubergines and Violet in the once red onions which went violet as they cooked! A rainbow a day keeps the doctor away!

1 After singing with Sophie and the Suitcases this morning, I took the Sally-boots that I made this week to a friend for her new baby boy, Declan.

2 I have been reminded this afternoon by of a quotation that pleases me. Thank you, Usha Pisharody
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”
~Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx.
3 It’s been a long time since my last piano lesson but I have practised a lot since we came home from Senegal and today my lovely teacher said, with the first half of one piece, that I would have been given top marks if that had been the exam! Now I have to make the rest of the piece as good!

1 Today’s piano lesson was hard but by the end my confidence was back and I know what to do for next week. My teacher is a star!
2 Just look at this beautiful Muscari Grandifolium flowering today in the wall.

3 We love Skype! Tonight we Skyped with KJ and the children. Jake was telling us about ‘Flat Stanley’, a story our children loved too and Tabitha said her first word, “Hiya!”, while waving at us. Later, we Skyped with Daniel in Barcelona and Ami in Dakar, Senegal, speaking both French and Wolof and talking about the wedding which is only two weeks away. Fabulous evening!

1 There are daffodils and /or primroses in every hedgerow, by the side of the roads, in many fields and gardens and in my window boxes. What a beautiful yellow time of year this is!

2 After sleeping on silk pillows at KJ’s last week and my curls staying curly and a bit less wild, I decided to invest in some and they arrived today.
3 My piano lesson went well. My teacher G is one of the most encouraging and patient people I know.

1 Been to The Hall for Cornwall tonight to see “Reasons to be Cheerful’ a kind of homage to Ian Dury. It’s fabulous! It’s funny and touching, it’s loud and it’s rude and it’s enormous fun! My face is aching from all the grinning and singing! It’s on tomorrow too http://www.reasonstobecheerfulthemusical.co.uk/ Do go and see it if you can! All the favourites are there in this musical/gig – Reasons to be Cheerful, Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick, Sweet Gene Vincent, Clever Trevor…..
2 Today’s piano lesson marked One Year of Lessons and my teacher tells me that she’s really pleased with my progress. So am I; there are pieces that I can play just for pleasure now, simple maybe, but pleasing nevertheless.
3 From a comment on yesterday’s post, I found this new blog which I found really touching. Do have a look.

1 Despite a disastrous start to the day with two burst tyres, singing with the Suitcases and then a lovely lunch with understanding friends helped to recover the day.
2 Seeing Choir-baby Elowyn in her Sally-boots was a great pleasure, especially as they matched her Babygro.

3 My piano lesson went really well. I’m told I’m just about ready to take my Grade 1 should I want to!
