I wish I could send you the delicious honeyed scent of the choisya ternata.
The four tulips in a tub are here being battered by the wild winds we have today.
We have finished another jigsaw, lots of Arthurian Tales.
I’ve made the curtain for the back door today to hang on the new rail put up last week.

We have a new jigsaw, a present from my lovely Mr S’s brother at Christmas. It is a street map of the part of London where they grew up. We’re not sure if it’s going to be very hard as so many pieces look alike or easy because the road names are all so familiar. I’ll let you know.

I love this poem by Simon Armitage, so few words that tell the whole story. It is taken from his collection, ‘Dwell’ inspired by The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Still catching up about my birthday
1/1/2026
All catering for the whole week has been taken on by the family and tonight there was a wonderful buffet for my birthday celebration.
Yet another cake!
The games I had found turned out to be a real hit – excitement, learning of strategies, shrieks of delight and just the happiest of evenings.
There was present giving too, gorgeous stationery, delicious chocolates, a subscription to National Theatre at Home and an “Adventure Fund!” Aren’t I the lucky one?! Now to dream up the adventure – what shall I do?
We’ve had fun with our latest jigsaw, another of the Alchemist series by Eeboo jigsaws.
Late sunbeams landing on the Libertia Grandiflora made it look as if it was on fire.
I was looking for today’s poem in the book ‘A Poet for Every Day of the Year , didn’t fancy today’s but this one from September 25th. Celia, Celia by Adrian Mitchell, made us both laugh out loud so I hope it gives you a smile at least today.
We love the eeBoo Alchemist series of jigsaws. This is the Alchemist’s Kitchen and I forgot to take a photo of the completed one so here’s the box with the pieces from the next puzzle on the side.
I’ve brought in another gladiolus flower as the hoolies we are having today have blown it down, along with the alstroemeria and the bins!
Just noticed a pretty feathery cloud shape that I haven’t seen before. Someone will know what it’s called……
