Yesterday, after choir, there was a flock of unusual birds on the muddy Penryn River. I asked a knowledgeable friend and he has kindly told me, “They are definitely Redshank. We usually get 2 or 3 most low tides, but I guess they were hunkering down before the storm.”
A friend, knowing of my family history and my interest in the Suffragettes, gave me this delightfully illustrated tea-towel.

After my lovely Mum died, I brought a Forget-me-not plant from her garden and it has spread really pleasingly in ours. It is always in flower on the anniversary of her death which today is 30 years.

We spotted some new street art in Redruth today, brightening up a hidden corner.

I put some oats out for the birds and the Magpies and Jackdaws had some tussles about who was going to get more!
I watched for only five to ten minutes and many of the usuals called in for their supper.
It’s been a quiet indoors day, wet and windy and a good time to bake for a shared party event tomorrow. The wind blew the bird feeder pole over but that didn’t stop the Great Tit for coming for its peanuts.
It’s been a beautiful sunny day and here is the lane I walk down to the allotment, full of sunshine and scents, blossoms and bird song- a sensory delight.
A Thrush kept us company along the start of our walk today as he was gathering for for his fledglings.
I love this pretty wreath of Hydrangea, Lavender and greenery which we saw on a front door along our walk on the way up to The Great Flat Lode. 
We were given some beetroot on Tuesday so I made Chocolate Beetroot Cake which is one of the lovely Mr S’s favourites. There wasn’t quite enough beetroot for the recipe so I made up the weight with raspberries and it is totally scrumptious! You’ll find the recipe by clicking on the red link. 
The lovely Mr S called me from my bed early this morning as, getting up to make tea, he had spotted a deer in the the mist of the back field.
I’ve made two more masks for the family in Spain today, one for our 3 year old Granddaughter and one for her big sister.
Mr S watched a baby Chaffinch at the feeders this afternoon. It was very unafraid and chirpy.
We walked early today and it was absolutely delightful, flower filled lanes and sunshine and almost silent except for the beautiful bird song. 
For a couple of hours this afternoon I sat in the sunshine, pinning and tacking the next six scrub caps. Machine sewing tomorrow and they’ll be almost ready for collection.
