Deer in the Mist, More Masks and A Baby Bird

The lovely Mr S called me from my bed early this morning as, getting up to make tea, he had spotted a deer in the the mist of the back field.

I’ve made two more masks for the family in Spain today, one for our 3 year old Granddaughter and one for her big sister.

Mr S watched a baby Chaffinch at the feeders this afternoon. It was very unafraid and chirpy.

Garden Birds in Cold Cornwall

A bitter Easterly wind is battering us all again with snow already up-country and coming our way, in the far South West,  tomorrow. The bird feeders have been very busy as if the birds know what’s coming and are stockpiling the food. We had to refill a second time today.

There were Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Blue Tits and Great Tits, Sparrows, Dunnocks and Pigeons, Blackbirds and Rooks as well as the ones I managed to catch on camera, shown below. It’s a pity it wasn’t the RSPB Great Bird Watch today!

Camellia, Grandbaby B and Nest Box

1. We had given up on our white Camellia flowering this year, its first season with us and then, this morning, I noticed this beautiful blossom, in May rather than February – but it is as cold as February so maybe it has been fooled!

2. Grandbaby B has a new bouncing cradle where she is happy to lie and watch what’s going on. She is also beginning to smile and found a musical toy pleased her greatly.

3. We’ve been watching the Great Tit going in and out of the nest box just outside the window. L says there are six baby birds in there so no wonder he’s so busy. I was delighted to catch him on camera!
