Guest Blogger 3

LiveWire3 back again! Today I went out with LiveWire2 and my mum again! This time we mooched around Truro and we bought some proper Cornish pasties and we went to a classic sweetshop, where we bought lots and lots of sweets. On the way we saw large, beautiful monument commemorating soldiers who died in World War I and II.

To the end of our journey, we went to Waterstones; we always go here at Truro. I bought some gorgeous books with amazing covers; they were in a special section called ‘beautiful covers’ which of course lured me in. I got two classics written by Jane Austen: Sense and Sensibility [and] Emma.

We are sadly going home tomorrow then I am back to school again. Thanks to everyone for enjoying my posts and Granny’s posts!

LiveWire3 again! Today I went Porthtowan for brunch with LiveWire 2 and my mum! We went to the Blue Bar for some delicious breakfast. It’s like a tradition whenever we come to Cornwall; we have to go to the Blue Bar or it is not a proper stay. So we did just that and it was great!

Just like I said, the food was delicious – as usual – and we finished it super quickly! I got a maple syrup bacon waffle, my mum got hash browns, beans and tomatoes. LiveWire2 wanted a burger but it was too early so he had to wait, although he couldn’t resist the food so he had bit of the hash browns and tomatoes. Later he got a burger and we shared the chips because how could you resist?! You may see a laptop in the backround – well that’s because my mum used the area as an office!

After, we went for a fresh walk along the sand and there were so many cute dogs. We walked close to the shore dodging the waves as they ran towards us. Weirdly, we saw lots of fish on the shore – that was a sight. We had never seen anything like this before but it was very interesting. LiveWire2 took photos of every single fish we saw – of course!

Guest Blogger and A Hug

LiveWire 3 here! I have just had a day out with LiveWire 2 and my grandad to Eden. I took many, many photos in the Rainforest biome – as it is so big! I took a few photos in the Mediterranean biome but sadly my phone lost battery so I had to resist the urge to take a photo (although I actually couldn’t). There were so many beautiful sights to see but if I took a photo of everything I would have been there all day and I would have had 1,000 photos. I had a really fun day and I am ready for a nice sleep (probably dreaming about all the flowers and plants).

Yesterday this lovely card arrived from a reader in the North East who has become a friend. It was accompanied by a little bag of beautiful sea-glass which I will incorporate into some glass work at some point.

I was in great need of a hug as I am in the throes of my second attack of gout so I couldn’t go on the planned day out with our LiveWires. The first attack was just three weeks ago. and took me by surprise. I thought it was an illness of old, male heavy drinkers and hadn’t a clue about how painful it is. I have advice to change my lifestyle (and some medication) but as the suggested lifestyle is the way we live and eat anyway, I don’t know what to change.

Biscuits and A Poem

It’s Valentine’s day tomorrow and our day to volunteer at Community Roots so I have made some delicious, gluten-free and very crumbly heart shaped biscuits for the coffee break.

It’s World Radio Day and Brian Bilston, poet, has given me permission to post his poem in honour of the day. I love how it reminds me of the time when you could turn the dial and hear all sorts of magic snippets and sometimes stopped on one that you weren’t looking for but found a programme to give you joy. I love his sense of humour too. .

New Beds, Tiny Flowers and A Good Read

We worked with others at the allotment this morning to put top soil and compost into the raised beds. They look good and are now ready for planting.

On our patch the Tete a Tete are just beginning to show through, always a moment of joy.

I have just finished a cracking good tale by an author I only recently discovered, Kate Rhodes. It is set in the Isles of Scilly and is utterly engrossing, with well drawn characters and such a sense of place. It’s called Ruin Beach and has been unputdownable!

Lily, Feather and Sunbeam

The flowers that came for the birthday 10 days ago are still beautiful and filling the room with their scent.

I like it when a feather comes with the eggs.

The morning sunshine is very low in the sky and came through our small glass panel lighting up the window frame and wall with colour.

The tide was going out as we were singing this morning and I just managed to get this photo while another section was learning their part for ‘Song of the Lower Classes’ which is a brilliant new protest song that will be added to our repertoire. It was first written in 1892 and has two very up-to-date verses added to the original. I’ll put a recording on here as soon as I can.
