Truro was rather grey today but we always love being there whatever the weather. It was pleasing to see the winter plantings beginning to get colour. 
The Cathedral rises up out of the buildings and can be seen from every angle as you approach the city.This view, for those who know the city, is from Redannick.
On the way home we stopped at Chacewater Market where this display of cyclamen was very attractive at the entrance.
The light just caught the pretty green glass and threw lines onto the dresser.
I went to a talk this evening about the Greenham Common women. It was fascinating, illuminating and moving. There were several women in the audience who had been there and were able to add their own perspective to the discussion. If you want to read more you can find some information here.
Rebecca Mordan has been researching the history of the women by collecting stories from those who were there and creating an archive of memorabilia and personal stories. It will be a treasure house of information.
One of the women present was wearing a beautiful pair of shoes which she was happy for me to photograph. When I asked where she had bought them, she told me that they had been hand made for her as a birthday present. Aren’t they beautiful?
My beloved Beetle has been away with Daughter No 1 for a couple of months being cherished and renovated and has come back today looking even better than when I bought her, two years old, eleven years ago. Absolute perfection! I am utterly delighted.
The roof hasn’t worked for many years – roll on Summer!

We rehearsed outside the Gylly cafe on Friday night prior to our performance at the Falmouth Golf Club. Here is a tiny bit of us singing. I’m not singing here as I was filming!
I love e e cummins as regular readers will know. Here are some words of wisdom from him. It feels, here in the UK at the moment, that we are fighting to save our way of life as we anticipate the election later this week. 
There is a saying in Cornwall that you can only kiss when the Gorse is in flower. It makes me happy to find Gorse in flower in every month of the year!
Today was the Christmas Market, last one of the year, and it went well.
The other stalls around were delightful – next door to me a cake stall with gorgeously decorated small cakes and some delightful biscuits, made by Pink Peach Cake Co.
‘Love Betty’ was across the way and a lovely young woman, a student at Falmouth University, bought a coat that suited her so very well.

At the orthopaedics out-patient clinic today – everyone was so kind, thoughtful, informative and friendly. I love our NHS and its amazing staff who made my visit a very good experience. All the walls were decorated with baubles and snowflakes and it was very pretty.
The view across the Hayle Estuary was lovely in the brief sunshine.
My choir did a brief warm up and rehearsal outside the Gylly cafe tonight on our way to our performance.
Dawn saw the horizon on fire this morning.

There has been a wonderful fund raising auction at The Redruth Drapery this evening and well over £3000 was raised for Bill’s Attic to be moved to Krowji.
We’ve had several sunny days and it has been glorious to feel warmth and see blue skies and blue seas. Trelissick gardens were lovely to walk around and to soak up sunshine. Enjoy the gallery.
We love the winter when all the leaves have gone off the trees and we can again see the sea from our bedroom window.
As we drove into the drive to visit friends today, there was this beautifully neat wood pile.
Our friends showed us some beautiful old glasses with a flower at the bottom. The effect of the cut glass makes a kaleidoscope effect which is absolutely lovely.
As I left for choir this evening, the sky was on fire.
The children at the school where we rehearse every week had been busy today decorating their Christmas tree.
I saw this the other day and loved it. I want our town to put the I into KIND on International Kindness Day next year on November 13th.
