Wedding, Anemones and Pear Tarte Tatin

1   I met with a lovely couple this morning who want me to be the Celebrant for their Humanist wedding ceremony next May. I do love my job! It such a happy and positive thing to do.

2   I love Anemones, such beautiful, vibrant colours. Only one in the bunch is fully open yet – the whole bowlful will be a treat indeed.

3   Pear Tarte Tatin, warm with ice-cream – comfort food for a wild wintery evening such as this, rain hammering against the windows, wind howling down the chimneys and the wood burner glowing!

Dawn, French Apple Tarts and A Wild Sea

1   I was up early this morning and caught the touch a of a dawn sky.

2  Cooking up a storm for tonight and having some sweet pastry leftover, I made some delicious little French Apple Tarts.

3   We went off to the sea this afternoon in a howling gale (but I needed the sea!) and found the car park as busy as a summer afternoon. Everyone had come to see the full tide in a wild on shore wind. The waves were HUGE and I feared for the little dog hunting rabbits on the edge of the cliff – he was okay!

Piano Lesson, The Sea and Kanoko Pants

1   I had my first piano lesson in 6 weeks today as we have been away and I was, indeed, somewhat rusty. However, I have started on the chords for Scott Joplin’s The Entertainer, a rag I have wanted to be able to play for years! It’s a simplified version but is sounding promising. I’ve set it as my target to be able to play by Christmas……

2   We live only 12 minutes from the sea but for one reason or another have not been there for a week and I am having withdrawal symptoms! Today’s photo of Chapelporth,  from exactly two years ago today, is for me! I hope you enjoy it too.

3  This afternoon I have finished off the Kanoko Ami pants for Grandbaby B who has grown out of her first two pairs. Now that she’s crawling, she may wear these out rather than just grow out of them!
