Our Ukrainian friends are coming back to Cornwall. We are so excited! I love the poster that shows the next tour – Falmouth and Redruth along with Leipzig and Berlin!
I’ve bought lots of lovely bunting to decorate one of the venues.

Plough Monday, Plough Pudding and A Book
I know it’s Tuesday but couldn’t make Plough Pudding for supper last night so here it is today. It’s a sausagey sage and onion bread pudding that is very tasty. We served it with maple carrots and French peas with lettuce. 
I found the recipe and its history in this year’s Almanac.
Mugs, Plates and Tea-Towel
Much recovered, I went next door this afternoon for tea and panettone. Sue had bought me a ‘get well soon’ present of some delightful mugs.

Seville Orange Marmalade and A Poster
It’s that time of year again and today we have made the first two batches of the best marmalade in the world! I love making marmalade as I learned the skill from my Dad when I was about 10 years old and whenever we make it now, my Dad is in the kitchen with me encouraging the finest slicing of the oranges and careful watching of the boiling mixture.
A beautiful poster of this year’s Full Moons came my way yesterday, the day of the Cold Full Moon, otherwise called the Stay Home Moon and I have been given permission by the artist to share it with you.

Dawn, Dog and Today
Dawn was truly fiery this morning and the rest of the day lived up to the Shepherd’s Warning – Red in the morning presaging poor weather.
On our way to join our friends for breakfast at The Gylly, we followed a dog having a ride. 
Today is Kings’ Day for our family in Barcelona – Happy El Dia de los Reyes Magos to them and it is Christmas Eve for our Ukrainian friends – щасливого Різдва. We are so looking forward to welcoming them back to Cornwall in a couple of weeks. .

Sanskrit Poem and Glass
The following piece of ancient Sanskrit writing, I found when our tiny baby son, 13 days old, was undergoing heart surgery where the surgeons gave him odds of 60:40 against his survival. It helped me then (he survived two more operations) and has taken me through other difficult times and, though I am not in need of it right now, we have dear friends who are and it is for them that I post this here today. We hold them in our hearts with love and hope.
Look to this day

The lovely Mr S drove me to see the sunset this evening.
Several people have loved the artwork by Nadiya Martynenko, the Ukrainian artist that I posted about a few days ago. I have found out more about her and there are facebook links. There are also many more wonderful paintings to be found there too.
