1 What a lovely day with Daughter no 3 and family visiting. Grand-baby B loved the beach…….
2 …… and loved watching the horses from her Daddy’s shoulders.
3 Sadly, this poor young female Bullfinch killed herself by flying into the window. Just look at the delicacy of the feathers on her back and the beauty of her tail feathers. What a remarkable little creature.
1 So many Magpies in our neighbours’ tree last evening – in the words of an old English Nursery rhyme, eleven for health, that would be good! Glad there weren’t 13! You may need to click on the photo to see them all.
One for Sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told
Eight for a wish
Nine for a kiss
Ten a surprise you should be careful not to miss
Eleven for health
Twelve for wealth
Thirteen beware it’s the devil himself.
2 The sunlight on the Fuchsia lit them up beautifully and just as I took the photo, a bee settled.
3 There’s a new bud on the Dahlia – the sunlight lit that beautifully too.
It was so brilliant being on the water to see the Parade of Sail! The water was really crowded, everyone intent on accompanying the Parade of Sail as the Tall Ships from Poland, France, Holland, Portugal, Germany, Britain and more prepared for the Race to Greenwich. It was really exciting to be so close to these beautiful boats, to see their amazing sails and rigging and all the enormous numbers of sailors involved – and we had the most glorious day for it. All the headlands were lined with people, hundreds and hundreds had turned out to enjoy the spectacle. Click on any photo for detail. I’ve named the ones I can.
P.S. The estimate of visitors was in fact well over 100,000 and the flotilla accompanying the fleet the largest ever seen in Falmouth!
