Raindrops
2 Since I was a little girl, I’ve loved the leats in Truro, the gutters where the river flows through the city and today, in the rain, they were really flowing.

3 Shopping! I love shopping and went to my favourite shops – the kitchen shop, the wool shop and, unusually for me , a clothes shop and today I bought a scarf! I love scarves!

Multi-coloured wool with which to knit Sally-boots
Tiny birds on my new scarf- a woodpecker, a thrush and others I’m not sure of but it is beautiful!
and for good measure, this beautiful poem which I have been talking to another blogger, Don, about this afternoon.
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,

And that has made all the difference.

This was a very beautiful one indeed, MBT – a very full one.
Those cup cake papers. You know, one thing I love about Asian art, is that they make the most beautiful TINY things, their patience, and steady hand, and focus, on creating something that albeit small, is so stunningly beautiful. These cake papers reminded me of how precious it is, when someone attends fully to something, with love.
It ALWAYS creates something, to love.

The Leats are intriguing. I have never seen anything like them anywhere else. Three rivers converge in Truro and run under the city and on lots of the streets there are these little running streams. Behind some of the streets are much wider runs of water, almost like small canals but not navigable, which carry the rivers through the city. Those are lovely to walk alongside.
I’m so glad I came to your post yesterday that reminded me of that beautiful poem which has been so appreciated by so many of my readers!

I always wonder if there’s a hint of regret too, that those other ways have not been travelled as each one then leads somewhere else. I’m not one for regrets and am lucky to be very happy with the paths I have chosen.
One of my ‘untrod’ paths would have taken me, at 21, to America to study but I had just fallen in love and had found someone to travel my paths with. We are still travelling together 45 years later!

The spider web is really beautiful. You surely do have an eye for finding the beauty in the small things we see daily. It is easy to miss them.
I do not like to shop. I am sure there is an art to enjoying shopping. I have friends who always are shopping. They make a mess of all the shelves. Fingering everything and putting back in different place. LOL Of course they end up having lunch out too. That’s the part I would enjoy. 🙂

There are only certain kinds of shopping that I love – those that feed my creative streak ie wool shops, cooking/baking shops, fabric shops – and only very occasionally clothes shops. Most of my clothes I have had for years and love!

Well okay, let’s see for starters I love this post. Your photographs and your delightful comments are colorful, beautiful and wonderful! I love yarn also. 🙂 I love Robert Frost, and this poem is one of my all time favorites by him. So I guess the best I can do here is hit the “like” button and have you imagine me humming “these are a few of my favorite things!” Although I’d rather listen to Julie Andrews sing that song. Robert Frost lived up in the Green Mountains in the next town to me. His house is preserved, fully furnished as he left it, and we have the Robert Frost Trail for hiking and skiing.
