Today’s Redruth Market was lots of fun with the maypole dancing in the Buttermarket being done expertly.

Buttermarket, Tea-cups and Storm Bert
The hoolies arrived overnight, crazy winds and heavy rain so we dashed into town to pick up our bread and called in at The Buttermarket for a coffee.
I love the little plants in tea-cups on the tables and windowsills.
Kris Meaden, a very talented local photographer, whose photos I have used before, has kindly given me permission to show this one too. Just look at these waves in Penzance and the debris in them! I hope no-one was walking on the prom this morning.
Swan, Autumn Leaves and Guinea Pigs
After singing this morning there was one swan in the mud where the tidal Penryn river had gone out.
Some of the trees across the river were in lovely autumn colour.
Lots of local people were invited to be guinea pigs as our Buttermarket food hall opened for a trial run. We had a fabulous evening in what will be Cornwall’s only street food kitchens in a properly lovely venue, the renovated and restored Buttermarket in Redruth. The official opening will be next week and we can’t wait to go back. We are so lucky to have this wonderful new venue in Redruth.
Thank you to all of you who sent love and condolences in one form or another today, it’s been good to feel the love.
