A Book, Singing and A Treat

I was given a beautiful book for my birthday, The Singing Tree, written and illustrated by Kate Seredy, which I read yesterday and absolutely loved. The story was very touching and the illustrations very lovely. Thank you very much C.

It was Sing for your Heart, Sing for your Soul today at the Eco park and I thought you might like to hear a couple of snippets. They are both recorded with the camera looking at the floorboards as I hadn’t asked anyone if they would be okay with being filmed.  The sessions are open to anyone to come along and songs are taught by voice in four parts. Everyone comes away feeling loved and exhilarated.

We love these little Italian lemony treats which we buy at a local market occasionally.

Webs, A Planter and Marrows

We were greeted by a thick fog this morning and it hardly lifted all day. The result was beautiful droplets on plants and webs in the early morning.

I went singing at the Porthtowan Eco Park this morning. The session is called ‘Sing for your heart, sing for your soul’, led by Claire Ingleheart, and it is as uplifting as it sounds. I love looking round the site after singing and found this delightful planter made from an old tyre.

The crop of marrows was very impressive!

What a crop!

We met with friends in the afternoon at The Blue Bar in Porthtowan and spent a delightful couple of hours catching up, not having seen each other since our South Africa holiday in May.  The sea was barely discernible through the fog so no photos of the sea today.

Singing, Eco Park and Pesto

This morning was the monthly Sing for your Heart session at Porthtowan Eco Park and it was fabulous as always – truly uplifting. It is wonderful to look around the room and see so many people smiling with pleasure at the harmonies they have just achieved under Claire’s magical tutelage.  If you are reading this and you live in Cornwall…….

After a delicious brunch, I walked over to the secluded fire pit area and sat in Nature’s silence to read my book for a couple of hours. I’m sure you can imagine the peace. The gallery will give you a flavour of this lovely place and so will this earlier post and this  one,

I have made my own Pesto for the first time today. Instead of mixing Basil into the tomato sauce for Mozzarella Pasta, I served a dollop of the Pesto on top and it was delicious! I also used Pea pasta which gives us another of our 5-a-day!

Singing, Eco Park and New Cook Book

I went to a Sing for Your Heart, Sing for Your Soul session with Claire today and it was glorious! We sang indoors, then in the courtyard and finally in the field and it was wonderful!

There was post waiting for me when I arrived home – a beautifully written card from T, LiveWire 3, to accompany the  International Cook Book that has been put together by her school community to celebrate the multiple nationalities who attend there. I shall be trying lots of the recipes which sound delicious. I’ll share them with you as I try them.
