New Mugs, New Glass and A Quilt

We have found the perfect place to keep our new mugs, bought from our potter friend in Open Studios week. Isn’t the turquoise colour  just gorgeous?

Last week I was sent some new earrings to use in my glass work and this is the piece that they inspired – purple, white and green, a Suffragette piece!

I came across this quilt a few days ago and loved it. Just look at the work that has gone into it with words from Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, a favourite song that we sing with my choirs.

Chasing Cars
We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me

Roses, Leaves and Sweet Potato Salad

What a scorcher, as they say! We don’t get heat quite like London heat in the far South West of the U.K where we live. We have melted the day away here! We all found respite in the coolth of the park where the children played, we all enjoyed ice creams and I enjoyed the scent of the roses and the sunlight through the Copper Beech leaves.

Supper was roast chicken and a delicious mix of salads including Sweet Potato Salad presented beautifully in one of Nicky Stephenson’s gorgeous pots.
