Coastal Walk, Cow Parsley and a Cat

1   Another warm and sunny day for a walk along a short stretch of the Cornish coastal path – masses of wild flowers, a pair of Cornish Choughs, some blue butterflies, some llamas, the most beautiful seas and nothing but bird song and the songs of the waves and ozone filling our lungs – a fabulous feast for the senses.

3   Almost back in St Just we came across a rather splendid ginger cat.

This post is in memory of my Mum who died 20 years ago today. Her love and wisdom are always with me. She loved the Cornish coasts, taught me about wild flowers, loved cats and was, quietly, a force to be reckoned with!

Teach Peace

Teach Peace  from Hippie Peace Freaks with thanks

1  I just want to say how much I loved teaching and teaching peace is surely the most important thing we could all do…….

2   This is a delightful combination of colour, music and creativity. (Photo not mine, sent to me via Fb.)

Creating makes me happy, be it cooking a meal for family or friends, knitting or sewing clothes for little people, writings of various sorts, designing in the garden, playing music …….

3   These are the powder colours which I bought from a beautiful girl in Varanasi, India, on our way back from watching the sun rise over The Ganges. She made lovely patterns on my hand with them before we negotiated a price and she told me how she was selling things to raise money for her school books. She then walked beside me protecting me from the traffic (cows, cars, Tuktuks, scooters, coaches and cycle rickshaws) until we reached our bus. A beautiful memory.

Lily of the Valley, Copper Sculpture and ‘The Giant’

1    The Lily-of-the -Valley that I planted last week in Kath’s memory are putting up shoots already. If you look really closely top right of the photo, you can even see tiny flower buds.

2   I love this small copper sculpture, ‘The Lost Ball’,  made by the very talented artist Jeremy Beswick.    It is one of several of his that we have and I love them all.

3    I went next door with some Nutella meringues (they were so light, the wind nearly blew them off the plate!) and in exchange had ‘The Giant’ signed by the sculptors who just happen to be our lovely neighbours.
