Lullaby, Miss Peapod’s Cafe and Winnie the Pooh

1 Singing was lovely this morning, only one choir baby with us today and at 17 months she is a delight! We started with an African lullaby ‘Mwena La La’ which sounds so beautiful as a round.

2 After singing we go downstairs to Miss Peapod’s cafe for coffee and catching up. There is a charming new piece of artwork on the wall, a beautiful collage of a pea-pod made by a local artist, Penny MacBeth.

3 I don’t know why this particular Winnie the Poohism came into my head today, but as an English teacher, I had a small poster of it up in my classroom to encourage all wobbly spellers!
“My spelling is Wobbly. It’s good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.”

Shadows, A New Word and A Wall Hanging

1 The sun was so bright this morning that there were shadows on the blinds of the window bird feeder and the beautiful Cedrus Atlantica.

2 The sun went in, a bitter wind came in gusts so accubation was the choice. I curled up with one of my favourites, ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’, our next Book Group book. (Thanks to Shelagh for introducing me to this pleasing new word.)

3 Excellent session singing with The Inglehearts this evening. Every week I see this delightful wall hanging made by the pupils of Troon Primary School where we rehearse.

Hand-made Card, More Decorations and Hyacinths

1 A very quiet pottery kind of day putting up a few more cards. This delightful one which arrived today has been made by the young son of a very special friend.

2 I love these very colourful decorations that should be safe from toddler hands as the fireguard will be up. (No fire will be lit!)
