In fact it’s only five today. I mentioned that I’d done some planting a few days ago – the trough is a delight , the front door pot, a disaster!
I grow edibles in the trough that is under the kitchen window. There are chives, rosemary and nasturtiums and I have recently taken out the courgette plants which did not like the situation and gave us one courgette each all summer.. Now we can look out of the window onto a bright and cheery splash of pansy colour. 
I was late getting the Wallflower plants and got the last ones at the garden centre. Very few of them look viable but I am hoping some of them may recover……..
The Clematis Montana is still giving us blooms, a few every few days, despite the coolth and the wind. Strangely, the blooms are a much deeper pink than they were last Spring. 
The geranium, Johnson’s Blue, is also having a second flush, lots of new green growth as well as a profusion of flowers. 
There are brown autumn leaves everywhere and we loved this one, caught on an invisible thread, dancing in the breeze. (Video taken from indoors through the window.)

Just want to say thank you to all you lovely readers who were concerned for my well being and sent love and best wishes. I’m okay and recovering from the upset of the last three days. I’ve had a wonderful afternoon today learning how to throw on a potter’s wheel. More tomorrow.

I’ve never used a wheel before or even done much with clay except once a little coil pot! This is all new and I loved it. 🙂

The pansies are nice! Mine died during the drought as I forgot to water them. Sad! Have fun potting! I did that for a while in Seattle and found it relaxing and enjoyable. I would love to gove it another go.

So you had drought in Wisconsin too? Hard on the plants wasn’t it? We still have a hosepipe ban! 🙂
