I took another route from town today and came across an alley full of street art. Here they are for you. My favourite is the cat in the comfy chair.

Street Art in Redruth
Mural, Moss and Hellebore
Our town is being brightened up with murals, some in quite unexpected places. I still have to discover some of them. Here is the most obvious at the crossroads.
On the way up the hill there was tree that seemed to be wrapped in green velvet. It felt as soft as it looked.
I stepped into a neighbour’s garden to take this photo of a beautiful Hellebore flower.
Mural, Plastic Bottles and Cacti
The mural outside one of my favourite shops, Just Delights, has recently been done for winter. The mural is changed each season and pleases me every time I drive through to choir. To find the others, put mural into the search.
After singing today, I did my shift in Fannie and Fox, the lovely gallery in Penryn where my glass now sells. It is a real pleasure to sit among so many beautiful things. Here are some for you to see.
Saltash, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Ann Glanville
The Suitcase Singers went by train all the way to Saltash Regatta & Waterside Festival 2019 today to sing in the glorious sunshine, the highlight of the day being singing ‘Ann Glanville’ around her statue. It was a brilliant day out, singing our hearts out and interestingly, being underneath the Brunel Bridge for a change!

Mural, Mosaic and Waves
The mural outside Just Delights in Penryn is changed each season. If you saw the winter one, this has just had Spring added!
When we voted today we went by a Memorial garden that we haven’t seen before.

We had a walk on Porthtowan Beach late this afternoon and I found my first piece of sea-glass. The waves were quite dramatic and being enjoyed by lots of surfers and at the edge was a toddler with a fishing net splashing about.
Road Trip Day 9 – Ouray and The Montrose Museum
Wednesday12th September 2018
Today we drove to Montrose for a two night stay so that we can explore The Great Sand Dunes and then The Black Canyon of the Gunnison, more about them tomorrow. It was a short drive to Montrose so we had some time to explore the delightful little town of Ouray before we left.
After an uneventful drive to Montrose, we spent a cool couple of hours in the eclectic little Historical Museum in Montrose, an absolute delight.
For those of you who have followed for a while, you may remember all the work I did for Until the Day Break in 2016, when I researched Mary Angove Gill who travelled to America on her own to join her fiancé who had left Cornwall to work in Colorado silver mines. They were married in Arapahoe and their son Foster was born in 1897. It was so touching to be in mining country where Mary and her family lived, to see old photos and artefacts that brought her life even closer. If you put Until the Day Break into the search on this page, you will get all the links to our fabulous production or you could click this link to get just one.
Mural, Autumn Colours and Dahlias
Outside the station, where we went to buy our tickets to go to London next month for the Anti-Brexit march, we spotted this colourful and interesting mural.
The Autumn colours are appearing.
Our Dahlias are a bit weather beaten but make a beautiful bouquet nonetheless.
By the way, we had some of the Pickled Grapes with cheese this evening and they are truly scrumptious!
Seagull, Artist and High Heel Shoes
Walking along to choir this morning, I saw the most delightful Seagull painted on a little blue car. At the back there were two more!
On the drive into Penryn, I had noticed that the Winter mural outside one of my favourite shops, Just Delights, was being changed and leaving later after choir, I saw that the artist, Elizabeth Perry, was working on it still. I stopped and asked permission for these photos. I will show you the finished mural next Thursday. You can see the Winter one here.
I love pretty shoes! I cannot wear high heels but that doesn’t stop me coveting them! If you are a regular reader you will have seen some beauties before. Here is another example of shoe heaven, a gorgeous confection of a shoe.
