Bird Feeder, Magnolia Stellata and Horses

07 Apr

1   Our bird feeder broke yesterday so we now have a  new one which I assembled this morning. The first birds to appear were not our usual small ones but two monstrous black birds with horny beaks and they ate all the meal worms in moments, one from the feeder, the other catching the ones falling to the ground! I think they were Rooks.

2   Our Magnolia Stellata is in flower and is gorgeous.

3    It’s the Golden Hour and the horses in the back field are enjoying their supper.

Those black birds are the first to eat here, as well! They must adapt quickly to change. Brave little birds.

You are right. The little birds are just beginning to come back. Thank you for the follow and for taking the time to comment. 🙂

Rooks have feathery legs – think pantaloons! – crows have bare legs and jackdaws are smaller with grey heads.

Sally, before I could see the bird in the photo, I was trying to create a mental image of this big bird you are describing. It almost sounded scary :-P. Cool photos and me hopes you are getting better by the day
