Young Magpie, Piano Practice and Sally-boots

27 Jun

1    We’ve been watching a family of magpies over the last few days. I know they are not very well-behaved but the iridescence of their feathers is very beautiful!  This youngster is trying to find his place in the garden but the pigeon is having none of it!

2     I finally managed to get a tricky piano piece right! It might be Grade 1 but it’s a challenge for me!

3     I’ve finished the Sally-boots for Ionie, the newest baby in the family.

They are very beautiful, black and white with rich iridescent blue in the tail. It’s very interesting what different birds we have each side of the pond!
      Have a good day! 🙂

These tussles between birds are marvellous to watch. We too have them constantly in our garden.
You’re brave and courageous with the piano – admire you for that.

Thank you! Some days it is hard but it does feel good when I finally crack something!
It was fascinating to watch the birds.I was surprised though to see the pigeon get the better of the magpie. Give him a month or two and I bet it’ll be the other way round. 🙂

How gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous – the boots 🙂 What a wonderful grandmother you are.

I used to be PETRIFIED of magpies, really petrified. Now I’m just wary. They do unnerve me. But your pictures were funny. Had no idea pigeons could be so territorial. Lovely tree, its arch.

    Have a wonderful day!! 🙂

It was funny to see. The pigeon was very determined to stay put!
I’m glad you aren’t scared of them any more but I can see why, they have quite nasty habits!
Glad you like the Sally-boots. I really enjoy making them 🙂
