Woodpecker,Third Daughter and Singing in the Kitchen

1   We had a beautiful visitor at the feeder today, a male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker! Here’s a photo but you’ll have to look very carefully. He’s hanging from the lower feeder just right of centre!

2   Our beautiful third daughter arrived today for the reunion! Second beautiful daughter will be here on Tuesday and first beautiful daughter on Friday and we will Skype with Daniel (son and twin to Daughter 3) in Barcelona and Ami in Senegal as they, sadly, can’t join us.

3   It was our kitchen’s turn to host The Treggies this evening and what a cracking good sing of Cornish songs we’ve had! I made some Marmite Scones and Red Onion for the singers! (Recipe on the Recipe pages)

No 4    A bonus! My sister in Hawaii sent me this picture which I love for its exuberance and philosophy.

New Wall, Recipes and Singing at the Pub

1  We had no rain for several hours and managed to plant up the new wall. It is going to be very beautiful! Do click on the photos to see the detail.

2   I spent a wonderful afternoon going through all my foodie magazines, cutting out the ones I want to try and sticking them into my personal recipe book. Mr S is a happy man as my pile of magazines to go through is now much smaller and he knows there will be some tasty treats to come!

3    First Sunday of the month means singing Cornish songs at The Countryman in Piece which of course is just the best way to blow away any blues! Singing in harmony has such a positive effect on the spirit, everyone should do it!

Snowdrops, Reading and Singing

1  We planted 100 snowdrops ‘in the green’ today. What a delight they should be next Spring. It might be snowing today in England but here, in Cornwall, it’s mild and the ground is soft enough to plant in!

2  I’ve spent the whole afternoon reading!   “Bad Marriage” by John Tagholm is utterly compelling.

3  Singing Cornish songs with everyone at The Countryman in Piece was, as usual, uplifting and invigorating and it will take me hours to get to sleep!
