Bluebell, Weather Vane and Supper

The lanes we take on our walk are becoming clouds of blue with English Bluebells.

We passed this weather vane in someone’s garden today. Just behind, you can see Carn Brea with the Castle and Bassett Monument.

We enjoyed a  delicious supper tonight of Mushroom, Feta and Tomato Baked Peppers, a Hairy Bikers’ recipe.

Bunting, Interloper and Tunnel of Trees

In Truro today the bunting in Victoria Square was bright against the beautiful blue sky.

A pink Geranium has come through the white Hebe and is looking lovely.

I love the tunnels of trees all over our lanes at the moment and these always make me smile as they are so square, made so by the double decker buses that pass through.

Crochet, Cornish Hedge and Horses

1   I had a lovely morning being creative with yarns and embroidery threads this morning with my lovely friends N and T and saw my crochet daffodils in their new home in one of N’s beautiful felted containers – a good match.

2   I love Cornish hedgerows where daffodils, brambles and a palm tree can be found all growing side by side.

3   Cornish lanes can be very narrow! I took this photo from the car as I stopped to let these two beauties pass by.

To London 3rd April – May Blossom, Random Acts of Kindness and a Shrug

1    To London on the train, masses of white May blossom in the hedgerows. Reminded me of Mum and Dad who used to drive around the Cornish lanes at this time of year to note where the blossom was so that they could go back later to collect the sloes to make sloe gin.

2    I used the time on the train to sew up the shrug I have knitted for Tabitha and sewed in the label I ordered online on which is written, “Handmade with love especially for you :)”

3    I’m not a fan of the underground – crowded, noisy, impersonal – but I spotted this poster from the escalator and then witnessed just such ‘an act of kindness’.   A man left the tube train as we did but left his glasses in their case on the seat. A young woman noticed, called him and through the closing doors, just managed to pass them to him. Brilliant!

Choir Babies, Baby Naming and Fields of Daffodils

1  Our choir babies had fun today as we sang our hearts out. They also enjoyed the attention during the delicious lunch that L put on for us all to say goodbye to one of our members who is leaving us.

2  Had a fabulous drive through very narrow Cornish lanes lined with ancient trees down to Porth Navas to meet Lowen, the baby whose naming ceremony I’m to do in April. Her name is Cornish for happy. Isn’t that lovely?

3  Then on the corner, as I left, I spotted a field full of daffodils, absolutely glorious in their yellowness.
