Garden Party Opening at The Ladder and A Gig

There was glorious sunshine for TheĀ  Ladder opening party in the garden we helped to create last Saturday. The old library is coming back to life and in the most imaginative and exciting way. Click on any photo for a larger view and the caption.

This evening we have been to listen to Angeline Morrison who was playing in the amphitheatre at the Eco park – a beautiful voice and person in a beautiful setting.

There were eight dogs in the audience!

Bird Food, Sunset and A Treat

At the weekend I read a new tasty sounding recipe and made it last night, Leek, Shallot and Potato Tart. There was lots left over and I won’t be making it again but the birds today have been loving the pastry!

Tonight’s sunset was gorgeous.

This afternoon I was offered a cancellation ticket forĀ  a gig tonight at The Writers’ Block that was sold out in a day from being advertised – “Home is not a Place,” poet Roger Robinson and photographer Johny Pitts talking about their book of the same name. They were joined by the wonderful singer/songwriter Angeline Morrison who performed some of her Sorrow album. What an evening! And I treated myself to a copy of their beautiful book, which they signed for me.

Angels for Ukraine and A Sad Story + Update

I finished my first two angels today and the next two are ready for soldering.

Tonight there is a gig that we wanted to go to, Angeline Morrison with her set, The Sorrow Songs, see the poster below. We really wanted to go but missed out on tickets. Today, I stupidly replied to someone on Facebook who said she had tickets she couldn’t now use and to message her. I did. I transferred money. She didn’t send tickets. Ā I realised I had been cheated. After almost an hour talking to the fraud people at the bank, they have assured me that my account is safe. They decided to refund me which astonished and pleased me as it was entirely my own fault. Big lesson learned today. Not everyone is kind or honest.

To make up for missing that, we are going to watch my all time favourite film which Daughter No 1 bought for me last Christmas.

UPDATE: Ā The wonderful people at The Redruth Drapery, hearing of our plight, invited us down, saying they could squeeze us in. Angeline Morrison is as brilliant as we had hoped, her story telling and her song writing all in her gorgeous voice made for a very special evening after a really horrid afternoon.
