Baking, Cream Tea and A Poem

07 Aug

The lovely new owners of our Greengrocer’s shop, Grow Box, were yesterday giving away some Cornish Cream if you bought some strawberries which I hadn’t realised until the cream was added to my bag.  That meant, of course, that I had to make some scones. I used the trimmings to make some Cheese scones of which I am even more fond, if I dare to admit that!

This gentle poem came my way today and seems so very apt for these difficult days. Be kind to yourself as well as to others.

Would love to have your recipe for scones. I make some lemon scones with currants, but they’re surely not the authentic Brit ones.

Groan… Those scones look good. We haven’t had a cream tea for 2 years now!

We have them very rarely – this was an unexpected treat because of the gift of some cream! 🙂
