I love the mermaid weather vane. I have been to Penzance, but these pictures make me think I didn’t look closely enough, some lovely buildings which really evoke a sea-side setting.

As in the pirates of, yes! We were part of a world record breaking attempt to get the most pirates in one place together in 2011! We did get the record. There were 8734 of us all dressed up, some with their parrots, some with their bands! It was somewhat surreal and enormous fun! 🙂

Have you seen the stone towers on the Scillies – several of the beaches there have them – my favourite is on the far end of St Agnes – the last beach before NewYork – with nothing but wind and waves ahead of them

I saw the title and wondered if you saw some Pirates. Sadly, that is the only reference to Penzance that I know. I love the stone cairns.
