Narcissi, Daisies and A Toad

16 Apr

1   More Narcissi are flowering. I wish I could remember the names of the varieties. If you recognise them, please tell me.

2   It’s been a beautifully sunny and warm day and the lawn is suddenly covered in Daisies.Daisies in the lawn

3   I went across the road tonight for an hour or two with a few friends and coming home we saw this toad by the wall. I do hope he stays safe and doesn’t go out onto the road. You’ll have to look closely. I didn’t use the flash, just the guide light  but you can still see his beautiful markings.

I agree, Pheasant’s Eye. Daisies are the first flower I remember actually noticing, I must have been about 3 yrs old. Wish they grew in the lawns here, they are sold as English Daisies in the nurseries!

So glad you like them – this year they just keep coming. I think the cold weather seems to have prolonged the season. I’m told that the orange centred one is called Pheasant’s Eye, an intriguing name for a very beautiful flower. 🙂

I picked many of these little Daisies for my Mom when I was little… and she always seemed to love it…

I haven’t yet set eyes on our friendly toad. I’m not sure he’s warm enough yet.

Toad came out well! I think the daffodil with the orangey centre is called a pheasant eye?

Thank you! He did come out well considering how dark it was! 🙂
