Masts, Magic and Reflection

24 Jan

1    I’ve been admiring these magnificent masts for the last few weeks of singing by The Penryn River and was pleased both sailing boats were still there today.

2    This sign in Redruth this afternoon amused me.

Do they work magic on their clients?

They are beautiful masts, reminds me of my post yesterday about a pirate’s ship; a play one!! I was delighted to get a chance to catch up on your blog today, it always makes me smile.

That brings back memories – we haven’ been to St Ives for years. The masts and rigging are a reminder of one of our ancestors of three centuries ago who was a rigger working the docks at Liverpool. Thanks for the memories.

There’s something wonderfully earthy and elemental about ship masts. I think it has to do with the wood (trees rooted in the earth) and the wind in the ship’s sails. Thoroughly enjoyed those masts.

Very pleased you liked them. I’ve been admiring them for a few weeks – there are so many masts in the river there but most of them are white or metal. These two are rather special. 🙂

I’m a sucker for sailing pictures!

Were purple, white and green the colors of the Suffragette movement?

I had that very thought……..that they looked like totem poles. I scrolled down and thought there couldn’t be another person that thought that. lol

      Good thinking!! 🙂
