Oxides, Blue Sky and Singing ‘The Soldiers’ Farewell’

21 May

1   On some of the paving slabs on our new patio are some remarkably beautiful fern-like patterns. I thought they were  fossilised ferns but I’m told it’s oxides in the stone. Click to see the detail.

Oxides or fossils?

Fossilised fern?

2   It has been properly warm today with such a lovely Cornish blue sky.

3   Singing tonight with Hilary and the Inglehearts was so lovely. We did ‘The Soldiers’ Farewell’ with its beautiful harmonies and cadences – so moving, it  gave me the shivers.

I can’t tell! I don’t know. Was it a scientist who told you they were oxides i the concrete? They actually look like fossilised ferns to me… but they are the best nature-grafitti I’ve ever seen.

Oh, I love how you find 3 beautiful things each day 🙂

Whatever they are, they are very lovely and I found another, very pale, one today!

Only a calm and peaceful mind is able to observe nature’s fine work ~ the fern-like patterns.
    Regards!

Fern looks like a fossil in rock. Quite beautiful.

Whatever they are in the stones, they are very special. I love the detail. The first one looks like a snowflake. And at last, some beautiful weather for you in the UK!!!

Yes, they do, don’t they? There are lots of them too and they make the patio much more interesting!
      🙂
