Colours, Beans and Squash

Our tulips have been amazing and I love how the Winter pansies are still flowering and that the orange is picked up in both and the purple is echoed in the Clematis and the pansies. I really am delighted with this planting. It has given us pleasure for many months starting with the Tete a Tete and the Anemone Blanda.

We are half way through May and decided to plant out the Purple Tepee Dwarf beans at the allotment as their roots were well through their toilet roll root trainers. They look happy.

The courgettes and the baby squash  are also ready to plant out but it does feel too cold still for them. Soon, I hope.

Allotment, Glass and Blues

We have an allotment! We have been on the list for some time and today we have come to the top. We have a starter plot, one third of a proper plot, to see how we go. We are on trial for 3 months and are very excited to get started and to be a part of this vibrant community. As you can see, there is some work to be keeping us busy.

Sadly, because of the Covid situation, the gallery where I have had my glass is closing. We are a co-operative and haven’t been able to open since the March lockdown. Today, I went to collect the pieces that were first put into the gallery for Valentine’s Day. Something good came out of this sadness though – I was so pleased to see my work and to remember how pretty it is and the fun I had making it all, that I am re-inspired to get on with more making!

As we were so close to the sea while near the gallery, we went for a walk along the sea front and just loved the blues in the sea.

Six on Saturday – At the Allotment

I was invited for an Allotment Lunch today so I baked some Daisy Bread and off I went to the local allotments where our lovely neighbour and her sister have a double plot – a great opportunity for photos. At the end you will find the link to The Propagator’s blog where, in the comments, you will find lots of other Six on Saturday blogs from all over the world  which are always fun to visit.

 1.  Looking out of the shed  across the other plots.

2.   Stir fry of lots of delicious fresh produce

3.   Fresh wild garlic about to be chopped up and added to the mix

4.   Stewed rhubarb with strawberries for dessert

5.   Rainbow Chard – beautiful bright colours

6.   Marigolds and Forget-me-nots – a beautiful colour combination.

7.  The being-renovated shed
