1 We spent a lovely couple of hours in Falmouth on this gloriously sunny (and warm!) day. We were lucky enough to catch Shallal Dance Theatre rehearsing in the gardens by the bandstand.

They are a “dynamic, celebratory, socially inclusive company which explores improvised dance theatre, providing a performance space for anyone and everyone in the community, seeking to enable artistic expression, improve physical health and self–confidence and provide a socially inclusive experience that will enhance the quality of life for all members through professionalism, dedication, skill acquisition and sheer good fun.” They certainly live up to that promise and the happiness was shared by all who were lucky enough to be in the gardens today.
There are fabulous views over Falmouth Bay from the Gardens.

3 The sea was beautiful shades of blue in the sunshine and we could see some tethered yachts in the distance tugging at their lines and just waiting to be sailed.

It was a lot of fun to sit in the sun and watch the , really rather emotional, dancing. The balancing was fun -and just a bit scary! 🙂

I have gone to dance performances etc in an auditorium/theater and enjoyed very much. But one has to sit still and just watch. And actually you feel like wiggling you toes and arms and legs. This outside performance would be great for those who feel free to join in.
When I taught school and played music for appreciation classes, I would try to give the kids some leeway to move. They love to direct etc.
“You can move but you have to stay in your own space and you can’t touch your neighbor! ” 🙂

It IS good to have the freedom to move when the musical spirit moves you! The park setting will invite that. The Performance is on 31st May but I’m not sure we’ll be able to get to it.
You taught school too! You played music! I’m just learning to play the piano and it’s quite hard! I watch Youtube videos of youngsters of anything from 7 up playing the exam pieces that I’m having to work so hard at!

It’s a lovely park which has recently been smartened up. There are lots of performances in the Bandstand , the park and indoors in the Pavilions. 🙂

Last year I took my friend through Gyllyngdune Gardens and we loved the wonderful rehab job done on the grotto!

It is splendid isn’t it? It had become quite run-down but the new plantings etc are really coming on now. It’s lovely. 🙂

What a great place to be able to visit. Was that bus driver lost, or do they really run out that far? I haven’t been to London in over a decade…thought maybe they’d be out of service except for touristed areas.
