Piano Lesson, Knitting and A Little Treasure

09 Nov

1   I hadn’t had a piano lesson for over six weeks for one reason or another and have been very bad about practising! My teacher, always encouraging, was so lovely and praised me for what I had remembered and pushed me on again.

2   I’ve finished knitting a cardigan for our 4th Grandchild due next April. If it turns out to be a boy, I shall have to find someone else to give this one to! The one I’ve now started is more neutral!

3   While looking through my boxes for a piece of fabric this afternoon, I came across this little present that I made for my Mum more than fifty years ago! She treasured it all those years and now it’s mine again.

The Christmas tree brought a tear to my eye; how special. And I love the cardigan.

Thank you! It did the same for me when I suddenly came across it and remembered the room where I made it and my Mum’s delight. My memory is that I made it for her birthday (Nov 5th) rather than for Christmas but … who knows now?
Glad you like the cardigan too! I’m wondering how your little one is doing and am heading over to your blog right now! 🙂

Aw thank you as always! She’s doing ok, another cold though. They’ve all had so many colds this year… I worry that it is a result of Fukushima although the professionals tell where we are is “safe”… hmmm!

If I had a baby boy, I wouldn’t mind dressing him in that beautiful, stylish sweater!

The title of your blog is so perfect for what you post! The cardigan is spectacular and finding the tree is like having a visit with your Mom. A little way of her saying, “Hi, I’m still here!” and to remind you of the love you shared. I love stuff like that! I have a cookbook with a letter from my Grandma in it and everytime I use that cookbook I read the letter and it makes me feel so close to her.

It’s so clear that you completely understand what that little felt Christmas tree means to me. Thank you so much for your lovely empathetic comments. 🙂

The cardigan detail is artistry. Just gorgeous.

I dare say, you are making me want to have grandchildren and take up knitting! 🙂

I found a treasure like that in my grandma’s stuff – I little needle book that I had knit and sewn with felt for pages. Love the sweater, too. I just found out we have a new niece or nephew coming and I’ve been looking for patterns.
