A Jay, Truro and Chocolate Amaretti Souffles

1  A beautiful single Jay turned up on the feeding table this morning, ate seeds, tried the pastry, had some oats and swept off into the fields behind.

2  We had a day out in Truro for Mr S’s birthday – galleries, lunch, shopping and  ‘The Descendants’ in the afternoon followed by ….

3  …A  roast duck dinner and a new recipe that I’ve been waiting to try out for ages – Chocolate Amaretti Souffles. They were absolutely gorgeous, crisp on top and truly gooey in the middle. Thank you, Nigel Slater!

Humanist Wedding, Cornish Daffodils and Today’s Batch of Marmalade

1 Had my first meeting with a delightful couple today planning their Humanist Wedding for May. Lots of lovely ideas and a really productive meeting.

2  Driving down towards Penzance I again saw fields of daffodils – so glorious and on Wednesday I bought lots from the Hayle area while in Truro and now they are all open.

3  The first two batches of marmalade are made! It takes a while and some effort but the pleasure from seeing all the jars of deep orange marmalade and of knowing how it will be relished more than make up for that!

Two Little Monkeys,Truro and Three Daft Monkeys

1  We’ve just done the 24 hour babysit and had lots of fun with the ‘two little monkeys’ as their Mum calls them.

2    When their parents came home, we went into Truro to collect our two Cornish bred chickens (decided against turkey this year!) Truro was busy and pretty with all its simple and very effective lights.

3  This evening we went to Krowji to meet up with lots of friends and to hear The Three Daft Monkeys – A brilliant time was had by all including Mr S.

Busking, Daffodils and a Rainbow

1  The Inglehearts sang their hearts out tonight at the late night shopping in Truro and the good people of Truro contributed £106.14 to The Phoenix Stroke Appeal. It was brilliant to be part of such a lovely group, making such a lovely sound!

2  Driving back from Falmouth where we had been to drop off some books (more culling – so hard to do), I spotted Daffodils in the hedgerow just outside Lanner! It’s December 7th!

3  There was a beautiful rainbow this morning over St Agnes Beacon. I think the pot of gold must have been in the sea.

Neighbours, Friends and Family

1  We are so lucky to have landed where we did when we came back home to Cornwall – our neighbours are just the best.

2  Found the perfect button for Tabitha’s almost finished cardigan while I was in Truro

and then had coffee with Ellen from choir, lots of chat and developing friendship – perfect.

3  Both Daniel and Katheryn phoned today and had long chats with Mr S, mutually informative and helpful.
