Six on Saturday – Not My Garden!

26 Jan

I visited Trelissick Gardens this week for a walk around one of our favourite stomping grounds. I had hoped to find some early Daffodils but they aren’t ready to bloom just yet. There were, however, Snowdrops, Camellias, Magnolias and Azaleas in all their glory. Come for a walk with me……..

2. Magnolia

3.  Snowdrops – I wish I knew which ones these lovely tall ones are. Ours flower when they are barely out of the ground! Perhaps one of my lovely readers can help.

4.  Beautiful Hellebore

5.  Rhododendron or Azalea?

6.  The Tower at Trelissick Gardens, a National Trust property.

I must get over there soon, and Lanhydrock to see the camellias. I think your shrub is a rhododendron they have more stamens than azaleas (which have 5) and are also evergreen. It is marvellous to see colours appear in the gardens again.

Thank you for that – very useful info that I shall try to remember. Have you ever been to Burncoose Nursery gardens? Their camellias and magnolias are amazing. I might feature them next week – it’ll depend on what’s happening in our garden by next Saturday. 🙂

Are the camellias and magnolias out already in Burncoose? If so I shall definitely pop along, though it is tempting to purchase something when going there…
