Another favourite garden. My cuz and I visited way back when it was just being uncovered, the rhododendrons were gigantic and smothered everything that can be seen now, and the top pond was really just a bog. Magical.
What a magnificent place and that sculpture – The Mud Maid – is so wonderfully mysterious and such a meaningful image when it comes to our own relationship to the earth – beautiful.
Isn’t she beautiful?
I hope you also noticed that the boots were for you and that your ‘close and closer’ water pictures inspired my take on the fountain. Thanks! 🙂
looks to be a day of earthy and organic mixed with youthful sugar and (hot and) spicy. Running through woods at full tilt picture, brings back memories I won’t go into. All children should have a woodsy place to play in everyday, the magical sculpture in this one nothing less than fairy tales coming to life. Good shtufffs, you.
Thank you. The Lost Gardens are so wonderful and really were lost for years. You might like to read about their discovery here http://heligan.com/the-story
You are so right that all children should have this kind of place to explore and to feel adventurous in. 🙂

Brilliant isn’t she. There’s a lovely story book for kids all about her – and another about the Giant. 🙂
