1 Another warm and sunny day for a walk along a short stretch of the Cornish coastal path – masses of wild flowers, a pair of Cornish Choughs, some blue butterflies, some llamas, the most beautiful seas and nothing but bird song and the songs of the waves and ozone filling our lungs – a fabulous feast for the senses.

This post is in memory of my Mum who died 20 years ago today.Her love and wisdom are always with me. She loved the Cornish coasts, taught me about wild flowers, loved cats and was, quietly, a force to be reckoned with!

Loved the Choughs, or, according to Springwatch last night, ‘chows’, as their name was originally pronounced onomatopoeically because this is the sound they make. So glad you had such a wonderful walk in memory of your mum.

Those views are just so exquisite and what a sight those flowers are. There is nothing like the Cornish Coast. What a beautiful place to live and such a fitting memory of your Mom. May the wild flowers always whisper her memory in to your heart.

How wonderful to actually see a Chough in the wild, it is still on my Bucket List. You certainly are having a good run of beautiful weather, finally! My mother has been gone from Cornwall 17 yrs this past month, the memories never fade.

You are right about the memories.
I couldn’t believe that they were Choughs but all the walkers (actually, we only met about 8 people on the walk!) were talking about them – and my photos proved it!
Today is cloudy, cold and windy again! The heating came on overnight! It’s set to come on if the temperature in the house falls below 17.5C! sun is forecast again for tomorrow – yippee! 🙂

It is a special bird of Cornwall (It features on our coat of arms) and had nearly died out so it is brilliant to find a pair on the cliffs. All the walkers we met passed on the exciting news as we did as we moved on.
