Seed Pod, Raised Beds and Head Held High

03 Jun

1   I’ve kept the bluebells well past their best for blooms but I love the process of bloom to seed pod and this morning the sun lit up the seed pod beautifully.

2   Our vegetable garden is coming on! We have Broad beans almost ready to harvest, Runner beans getting going, Shallots showing good growth and Onions coming on. The salad leaves have just come through. You’ll have to click on the photo to be able to see them in the far left raised bed.   The Clematis Montana is smothering the shed and the sky is simply blue!

Broad beans are my favourites and this year we’ve planted plenty. Last year we ran out! 🙂

That garden of yours is superb. You obviously put a lot of time and care in to it.I bet the rewards you reap are wonderfully worth it.

The lovely Mr S and I both enjoy tending the garden but this year the raised beds are all his work! I’ll pass on your compliments! 🙂

Hi Alex in Mississippi, just wanted to tell you that I listened to Carl Sagan’s wife talking about their love story on the radio yesterday. I probably wouldn’t have listened if it hadn’t been for you so thank you. It was a very beautiful story and a fascinating programme on BBC Radio 4. You may be able to get it on the internet. All the best to you with your chicken sitting! 🙂
