Our Cornish hedges are filled with colour at the moment, pinks, whites and blues abound with golds and soft yellows and the lime greens of new leaf growth. As we drive by, these all become beautiful blurs of mixed hues so I walked around the block, as it were, to capture the colours for you. I wish I could also bring you the quietness, the birdsong, the smells and the peace that came with taking all these photos for you. Click on any photo for more detail.

Sally, top row, left — primrose? I just dug up three different colors in helping a friend thin out her patch. Now they are in mine. Love that they start blooming in the coolest part of the spring here in New York state. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it is. If you hover over each photo, I have managed to name all but one. We have primroses in the garden too – I love them. They start here very early too and because of the cold Spring, I think, are still flowering.In fact, now I think about it, they have been in flower for more than 4 months!

Yes, it is. I love primroses too. Because of the cold Spring, I think, they have lasted much longer than usual so we have them now as well as all the other beauties. My first primrose photo this year was on January 19th so they’ve been in flower for 4 months already and there are still lots about! 🙂

My favorite is the daisy with bee. It is a quick reminder that these flowers….no matter how lovely they are to us….are going about their purpose in spite of us. The bee is important to them for continued existence. I am no scientist and don’t know the first thing…
I am sure the daisy is much more impressed with the bee than a silly English gal with an expensive camera. lol
