1 We have rain today and our Spring flowers, Miniature Daffodils and Grape Hyacinths, look beautiful through the rainy window pane.

2 Doing a bit of Spring cleaning today, I came upon this lovely little sand-dollar on a top shelf. It’s over 30 years since our first visit to America to see my brother and we discovered the delicacy of sand-dollars on the beach near Savannah.

3 Our perpetual travel diary tells us that today is when the Japanese celebrate their spectacular Cherry Blossom, Sakura. A bit of research shows me that the cherry blossom season last for some weeks but I wanted to share the beautiful poem that is on our calendar today.
From the deep hearts’ core
Of the spring serenity,
Splendid, resplendent,
A perfume has arisen –
The mountain cherry blossoms!

Oh Savannah what a really beautiful place. I was there just over 10 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the place. If you took the cars away the streetscape looked so very very old (well that’s coming from an Australian when our history is rather new 🙂

Any attempt at distorting reality, to see a new – you just know I’ll like it.
Partial to sand dollars as well. A 30 year old one -wow, you take care of your ‘shtufffs’, fragile at best is a good description for some kinds. I seldom keep them anymore, though I do like to find them. If on the beach and long deceased its fair game I suppose. I did bring one home with me this past trip (besides the knife-fork monster), am sure it will factor in to post.
