Narcissus, Sun-dried Tomatoes and Redwings

09 Apr

1   I just love the delicacy in the middle of this Narcissus which I didn’t even notice until I took out one dying flower for the compost.

2   We saw lots of these Redwings in a field as we walked up to collect the car this afternoon. Not the best photo but I was on maximum zoom and have cropped further to identify the birds.

3   Making tonight’s delicious tea of Mushroom and Halloumi Stuffed Peppers (recipe to follow), I was struck by how glossy and lovely the sun-dried tomatoes were.

I have always preferred the delicate Narcissus to the flashier Daffodil, but I admit that we have both in our eclectic garden 🙂 We used to have a lot of redwings when I lived on Long Island (NY). They used to live out near the beaches. I haven’t seen any in years. I don’t know if they live up this way. Nice to see them again.

They do! From February to now and still so many in bud. One thing to thank the cold weather for I think! 🙂

I took a photo of one of “those flowers” the other day.
I didn’t know the name was Narcissus…thank you.
Around here, it turned into Spring overnight.
Like magic, every thing came to life
And I think the warmth is here to stay. Thank goodness!

Beautiful flowers aren’t they and so many varieties. You are lucky to have Spring! We have lots of flowers but definitely not Spring-like weather! Where are you in the world to be so fortunate?

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. That is always much appreciated! 🙂

I am in Virginia, U.S.A. A few days ago,It went from winter to spring almost over night. Actually, today it feels like it skipped over spring and went directly to summer. It is 87 degrees today.
